Reinforcement for our research group

Valentin Zanon has been pursuing his doctoral studies in our research group since October 2025. As part of the Cross-Sec research project, he will work with stakeholders on scenarios for achieving climate neutrality in Austria by 2040.

New doctoral student joins the team

Antonia Knapp joined our team on September 1 as a project assistant and doctoral candidate. As part of the Circular Bioengineering project, she is conducting research on the social dimensions of biorefineries.

ÖGA Conference 2025 in Graz

This year's conference of the Austrian Society for Agricultural Economics took place on September 18–19 at the University of Graz, focusing on the topic of “Security of supply amid rising demand and limited resources.”

Exploratory scenarios for European livestock farming systems

As part of the Re-Livestock and Circular Bioengineering projects, Hermine Mitter presented exploratory scenarios for European livestock farming systems at this year's conference of the EAAE (European Association of Agricultural Economists) in Bonn on August 27, 2025.

Presentation of results of the OptFor-EU project

First results of the OptFor-EU research project were presented by Hermine Mitter at the congress of the Austrian Sociological Association in Graz and at the congress of the European Society for Rural Sociology.

Keynote speech for the Klimalichter of the city of Graz

Car-free, meat-free and conscious consumption for a month - this is the motto followed by thirteen “Klimalichter” as part of the City of Graz project of the same name. During the project month, Hermine Mitter presented “Effective levers for more climate protection in energy and consumer behavior” on 27.5.2025.

International Conference on Environmental Psychology 2025 in Vilnius

The International Conference on Environmental Psychology (ICEP) took place from June 15-18 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Dr. Leonie Fian took part in the conference and presented her last study as part of her doctorate.

KlimaLecture: What does the future of European climate policy look like?

Hermine Mitter gave a lecture at the eleventh Climate Lecture of the Junge Akademie on May 27, 2025. For the first time, active members of five young academies in Europe cooperated under the direction of Linus Mattauch to discuss the current state of European climate policy.
